SafeWork NSW Psychosocial Health & Safety Roundtable

Health and Safety Index founder, Mark Wright, was invited to join a SafeWork NSW roundtable on psychosocial risks with Australia peak industry bodies, e.g. AIHS, AICD, AHRI, RMIA, CPA. A few key takeaways:

🤝 Collaboration: There is a huge opportunity to explore cross-industry collaboration with peak bodies in partnership with SafeWork NSW to positively influence psychosocial outcomes.

⚖️ Compliance Risks: Regulators play an important role in law enforcement. It is also recognised there can be unintended consequences to psychosocial compliance activity.

🎯 Targeted Intervention: Risk-based solutions should address psychosocial hazards that are often unique to each team, business or industry, eg. Work design

Psychosocial Dx Results: Sharing Lessons Learnt

We recently worked closely with a white collar (Organisation) to assist with a broad health “and” safety review, with a particular focus on mental health in the workplace.

Psychosocial Dx survey was completed to better understand job demands, job resources and worker outcomes of a remote sales team and office employees often involved in after-hours calls with regional teams across Asia.
